At the age of four, Monica was already a lead singer in a local gospel group.

When she was 15 years old, she was involved in a church choir.

She started her career professionally in 1996 when she used to attend different music lessons.

Because of her love for music, she got exposed to kwaito, jazz, house and gospel music just to mention a few.

Monica has shared the stage with well known artists such as Mthunzi Namba, Jabu Hlongwane and Brian Themba.

She says she gets inspiration from the love and the support that she receives from her family and fans.

In 1998, Monica released her first album titled, Thank you and in 2004, she released her second album titled, Baxolele.

Last week, she released her new album called Shine On.

Monica says she is not only a singer but a dancer as well.

She reveals that when she is not busy with her music, she spends time with her family and watches TV.

She encouraged the other young up-and-coming artists to believe in themselves.

“Believing in your talent is what will make one dream and work towards fulfilling that dream,” Monica concludes.
