Man dies at the hands of girlfriend

A man died after his girlfriend allegedly stabbed in the neck with a breadknife.

The man and his girlfriend were allegedly having an argument on Sunday when she grabbed a breadknife and stabbed him in alleged self-defence.

The Springs police received a call at about noon from the staff at Far East Rand Hospital’s casualty department.

They informed the police about the man, brought in by an ambulance, with a stab wound in his neck.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, spokesman for the Springs police, says the nursing staff explained the man died while they were admitting him to the hospital.

The deceased’s girlfriend was arrested where she was waiting at casualty.

She will appear in the Springs Regional court soon.
