Local entertainers at Carnival parade

The Tender Loving Kids entertainment from KwaThema will be part of the Carnival parade to be held at Orlando Stadium.

The company was formed by Mandla ‘Ignition’ Sogcwayi (23) a few years ago.

He says he started the entertainment company to help develop the talents of the young people of KwaThema.

“The youth from the township have the talent but cannot afford to travel to places like Johannesburg to get people to help them develop their talents,” he says.

He continues to say that he believes that with the knowledge and the skills that he has, he will produce the stars of the future.

About 1 784 learners from different secondary schools in Kwatsaduza entertained the crowd on September 4 through dance, poetry and drama.

Ignition says all their performances will be aimed at educating the youth, specifically high school learners about peer pressure, teenage pregnancy and other challenges that they are faced with.

“We targeted the high school learners because we believe that they are mostly affected by these challenges,” says Ignition, adding that on the day they will also celebrate the African culture through the different African cultural attires that they will be wearing during their performances.”
