Two arrested for fraud

Two suspects who used fraudulent invoices to buy groceries and electricity appliances were arrested on Monday.

The suspects were arrested after they used their invoices to buy goods to the value of R1-million at the Springs Trade Centre.

Captain Johannes Ramphora of the Springs police says the police received a call from the trade centre informing them of the suspected fraudulent invoices that the suspects used.

“After it was proved that the invoices were not real, the police searched for the suspects until they found them in Bakerton,” says Ramphora.

He added that a case of fraud and possession of suspected stolen goods was opened against the suspects who are expected to appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon.
