Damaged street fixed

The damaged street in KwaThema Extension Two that made it difficult for two families to get access to their homes, is now fixed.

The Xaba and Mbatha families no longer struggle to get access to their homes after the metro fixed the street.

According to ward councillor, Wilson Busakwe, the street was first damaged in 2012, allegedly due to heavy rain and lightning, when the street was divided into two pieces.

He said the metro was then informed about the matter and the street was fixed.

However, after a few months he said the rain and thunderstorms damaged the street again.

“People had different views regarding the street, others believing that lightning and heavy rains were not the cause but that the place needed traditional healers to cleanse it,” said Busakwe.

He said now that the street has been fixed, the two families will drive smoothly to their homes without a fear of damaging their cars’ tyres.

During the paper’s visit to the place, no-one was available for comment from either families.
