Youth gets drugs education

The Twin Plugs Entertainment organisation is busy educating the young people of Kwatsaduza about the consequences of using drugs.

The youth organisation’s 20 members, aged between 10 and 35 years, have dedicated their lives in bringing a positive change to their society.

The non profit organisation is focusing on talent exposure and helping needy families through grocery and clothes donation.

The organisation is also doing different awareness campaigns, such as those around drugs, HIV/Aids and alcohol abuse, targeting the young people in and around Kwatsaduza.

Speaking on behalf of the organisation, chairman Siboniso Sibiya (33) said the organisation is aimed at helping fight against the social challenges faced by the young people of Kwatsaduza.

He said after noticing that many young people have dropped out of school just after they started using drugs, they have decided to start an organisation that will help them build their future.

“We felt that it is the young people’s responsibility to help other youth within the community,” said Sibiya.

He said at the moment, his organisation is busy with drug abuse awareness campaigns in high schools.

“We chose to do the campaign in secondary schools because we have noticed that the majority of the drugs addicts started taking drugs while still in high school,” he said.

Adding that they have already visited some of the high schools in Tsakane and that on Monday they will be educating learners at Buhlebemfundo Secondary School in Tsakane and on August 8, they will be at Mamellong Comprehensive School also in Tsakane.
