New blankets for old people

To protect themselves from the cold weather, 10 received blankets from the metro.

While the old people were queuing at the Duduza Clinic for their turns to come to see the nurses and get their medications, they did not know that it was a lucky day for them.

Member of the mayoral committee for community safety, Clr Mthuthuzeli Siboza donated 10 new blankets to the old people on Wednesday morning.

Thanking the MMC, one of the beneficiaries gogo Emily Dlamini (64) said she is happy about the donation.

“I am very grateful for what the MMC has done for us, he showed us that the metro loves and care for the old people in the townships,” said a thankful Dlamini.

She said because she depends on a pension grant to feed her family, she cannot afford to buy enough blankets to help keep her family warm especially at night.

“A blanket present means giving warmth and comfort to my family,” concluded Dlamini.
