Itumeleng Sechaba happy with donations

Itumeleng Sechaba home-based centre received 50 school shoes and 30 blankets last Monday.

The Duduza-based organisation operating in Masechaba took 50 of its members to Hector Pieterson Square and Mandela house, both in Soweto, before handing out the donations to them.

The shoes donations was made by Eskom, while Carnival City Casino gave blankets from its winter drive.

Social Auxiliary Nurse Nomsa Yende said the centre caters for an estimated 200 orphans and vulnerable children between six years and 18 years old from wards 86 and 88.

She said the recent trip was part of the quarterly psycho social support programme, and includes home visits to assist their members with homework.
