A man was found dead at Jacobs Farm on Thrursday morning around 4am.
Springs police spokesman Captain Johanes Ramphora says the deceased was with his friend when he was allegedly burnt to death by four suspects.
He says it is alleged that the deceaesd was illegally buying gold from the illegal miners and that he had a misunderstanding with his clients.
“We suspect that there has been a misunderstanding between the deceased and his clients who then decided to shoot his friend and dragged him out of his car and burnt him,” says Ramphora.
He adds that the deceased and his car were found burnt beyond recognition.
No arrest has been made and the police opened a case of murder and attempted murder.
