50 blankets were donated by Young Adult League (YAL) members to deserving families in KwaThema on Sunday.
YAL handed over the blankets meant to assist during this cold season, after a service at Lutheran Church in White City, were they are members.
Chairperson Tshepo Phatlane said YAL is made up of members who share a common goal of building their community and each other spiritually.
He added that they hope to continue with the initiative as they saw a big need in the community while they visited some families.
The blankets were made available to YAL through the Carnival City winter drive.
Mduduzi Madonsela who is responsible for the casino’s corporate social investment, said they distributed 2 000 blankets to different community organisations around Ekurhuleni.
