A man was robbed of his cell phone by unknown suspects in Gugulethu/Everest.
The victim was fast asleep when he was awakened by the robbers knocking at his door on Friday around 2am.
Captain Johannes Ramphora of the Springs police says the victim did not open the door despite the demands made by the suspects to open it.
He says the man told the police that while standing outside his shack, the suspects demanded that he give them his cell phone and threatened to hurt him if he refused to do so.
“Fearing for his life, the victim gave the suspects his cell phone through an opening between the door and the door frame,” says Ramphora.
The suspects then fled the scene and no shots were fired.
The police opened a case of house robbery and are still looking for the suspects.
