World Dance Masters Champions

Stars shine bright for Intuthuko Art production

Intuthuko Art Production from Duduza, successfully represented South Africa, and was crowned World Dance Masters Champions.

The group travelled to Croatia, in Europe last month, after being selected to represent the country at the SA Dance Star late last year.

Founder of the group Sanele Maseko (28) said the group won first position for its two gumboot dances titled Top Seven Angels and The End, and claimed position five in the top ten for its Sophia Town dance.

He said the Suda Dance Star and Dance Star Night competitions were broadcast live in a Croatian television programme.

The group, which has eight members, added these titles to a long list of other achievements.

Included in their prizes is a 3 000 euro (R44 000) cheque and they said they have to defend their title in next year’s competition.

Patience, perseverance, team spirit, parental and community support are part of the list that Sanele attributes to their success.

He said their aim now is to ensure that members are able to earn money from their dancing.
