A case of reckless and negligent driving was opened at the Springs Police Station today.
At 7.41am, a serious accident took place on the Paul Kruger Highway.
Superintendent Vusi Mabanga, EMPD spokesman, says a man lost control of his vehicle and drove over the middleman, causing a head-on collusion with another car.
An EMPD officer on the scene says Ekurhuleni Emergency Services used the jaws of life to get the women driver out of her car.
The woman and her daughter, who was a passenger, sustained serious injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
The man sustained minor injuries and was also taken to a nearby hospital.
Witnesses on the scene claim the water leak on the road iced up this morning and allegedly caused the driver to loose control of his vehicle.

Can someone please confirm if their was in fact a water leak, I was at the accident today and don’t see any signs of water leaks…
Neither can I find any indication that the man lost control of his vehicle tried to brake…
