A suspect (26) who was robbing an old man, died in hospital after he was allegedly assaulted.
Captain Mandla Phori of the KwaThema police says the incident took place on the corner of Marule and Blose streets in KwaThema.
He says according to an eye-witness, the suspect and his friend were robbing a 90-year-old man when he noticed that one of the suspects was bleeding.
Phori says, the eye-witness rushed the suspect to the police station with the aim of getting help.
“An ambulance was called and the suspect was rushed to Pholosong Hospital for treatment where he later died,” says Phori.
A case of murder was opened and the victim opened a case of robbery.
No arrests have been made and the police are still investigating.
