Police chase robbers

Not knowing a police vehicle chased robbers in a stolen vehicle

The Springs police chased a vehicle with two occupants, not knowing they had just robbed a house in Krugersrus.

At 8am on Monday a domestic worker was doing the washing when two men approached her enquiring about rooms to let.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says one man took out a knife and ordered her to go inside the house.

They took a television set and electrical appliances, loaded them into a Suzuki Swift motor car parked outside and left the scene.

Ramphora says a police vehicle on patrol noticed the car and started chasing it.

The robbers fled in the direction of Lindelani where they left the vehicle and ran away.

The police found the stolen goods in the car.

They took the car and the stolen goods to the Springs Police Station, only to find out later a case of house robbery had been opened.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information to help the police in arresting the robbers, can contact the Springs police on 011 365 5700/19.
