Archbishop David Nkosi (80), from the South African Baptist Church, died on Monday after a short illeness.
He was raised and spent his life in KwaThema.
He attended his primary and high school in the old Nigel location.
After leaving school, David joined the African Ministries Association where he studied to become a pastor at the age of 28.
He belonged to several religious ministry associations, and mentored members of Paradise Youth Association.
He leaves behind his wife, children and grandchildren.
His funeral service will start at 8am on Saturday at KwaThema Skills School Hall (Old Tlamoha), before leaving for the Vlakfontein Cemetery.
