OPINION: Do learners have too many school holidays?

Chillies Motloung: “No. The school holidays give children the opportunity to focus on extramural activities. I think they also deserve a chance to rest.”
Richard Nkabinde: “No, I think the holidays are fine just the way they are. As long as these young ones stay out of trouble and find something constructive to do.”
Nono Magabe: “The holidays are not a problem. I think parents need to make sure that their children are supervised and have planned activities so that the children don’t get bored.”
Caswell Gxowa: “School holidays can never be enough because our children work hard throughout the year. We should allow them to rest and prepare for the next term.”
Tsholo Matsi: “No, the school holidays are perfect the way they are. Learners get the opportunity to focus on other interests that are not academic.”
Richard Radebe: “I think the holidays are too long and I don’t think they make good use of the time they have. Maybe they should stay in school for more days.”
