OPINION: Do learners have too many school holidays? Kwatsaduza residents have their say. Chillies Motloung: “No. The school holidays give children the opportunity to focus on extramural activities. I think they also deserve a chance to rest.” Richard Nkabinde: “No, I think the holidays are fine just the way they are. As long as these young ones stay out of trouble and find something constructive to do.” Nono Magabe: “The holidays are not a problem. I think parents need to make sure that their children are supervised and have planned activities so that the children don’t get bored.” Caswell Gxowa: “School holidays can never be enough because our children work hard throughout the year. We should allow them to rest and prepare for the next term.” Tsholo Matsi: “No, the school holidays are perfect the way they are. Learners get the opportunity to focus on other interests that are not academic.” Richard Radebe: “I think the holidays are too long and I don’t think they make good use of the time they have. Maybe they should stay in school for more days.” Related Articles Foundation teaches kids about disabilities Loiterers benefit from Gugu’s kindness Help social workers to locate parents EMPD does drug abuse outreach for youth
