OPINION: Fine line of morality

The other day someone I know was asked to deliver a “package” to a certain address.

He did and he was a few thousand rands richer.

It’s in moments like these when I really wonder if our morals are holding us back.

Technically, he didn’t hurt anyone. Right?

Someone else said, “People don’t get rich by being good.”

It would appear that good people have peace, not money.

But what if I want peace and money?

Metro police taking our “cold drink” money to support their families, is that really wrong?

Maybe I just want to establish where the moral line is between good and evil.

Or if there is a line.

Is it just a grey area?

Does one size fit all?

If an escort can get paid to keep someone company, what makes it wrong?

And on the flip side, I’ve have watched numerous documentaries about how the US has spent billions of dollars on the war against drugs.

A moral cause that is yielding very few results.

But is it equally moral to spend that much money trying stop adults from getting the drugs they want rather than spending the money on feeding and educating innocent children?

It is clear that I am finding a way to figure this out.

Also, it is possible that the moral line is much clearer when there is no money involved.

Either way, if anyone has the moral handbook, please help a girl out.
