Mazda recalls three models because of faulty airbags
Faulty airbags to blame for recall.
Mazda is recalling the Mazda 2, Mazda 6 and the Mazda RX8, because of faulty airbags.
The Takata manufactured airbags are at risk of producing excessive internal pressure when exposed to high levels of humidity over long periods of time.

The excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator housing to rupture with metal fragments, which may increase the risk of injury to the vehicle occupants.
Alain Lewis-Williams, manager of Mazda East Rand says, “it’s the older models from 2002-2014 that are being recalled.”
To check if your model is among those being recalled, one should go to www.mazda.co.za/recall and enter your VIN number.
The recall started on March 6 and will continue until all the vehicles affected have been fixed.
