Hard work pays off for learners

KwaThema – Top achievers at Gorogang Primary School were recognised for their hard work on Friday.

Learners from Grade One to Seven were awarded with certificates and trophies of excellence.

Head of department Ishmail Maponya says the awards are held annually to encourage learners to work harder in their grades.

“This helps them to be competitive in class and improve their performance,” Maponya says.

“We are hoping that the other learners will pull up their socks and the teachers motivate them to do better.”

According to Maponya, there are many ways of sparking an interest in learning, and this can vary from learner to learner.

“Our teachers are proving that it is not easy but it can be done.”

Maponya says the school is proud of the hard work its teachers are putting in to support the learners despite the challenges they face daily.

“We understand that it is not always easy for the teachers because of the limited resources, but they are doing their best to ensure that they use all the resources at our disposal to make learning easy.

“Our learners are dedicated to their studies and have been participating in different competitions throughout the year and excelling,” he adds.

“We are also appreciate the support of the parents, community and other leaders whenever we need them.”
