Mjay set to launch new album

Mjay Da Spoilt Brat is releasing his second project, Life and Times, on December 9.

Daveyton – Mduduzi Mhahlangu aka Mjay Da Spoilt Brat hopes the streets are ready for his next album.

The winner of the best downloads category in the Streets Are Fed Up Awards 2015 says his second project is ready for release.

“The album is titled Life and Times because it’s about what is happening now but it also focuses on what could still happen in the future.”

Mjay says his love for hip-hop grew from watching his cousin listen to Eminem.

“Years later when I saw the video of Upgrade U by Beyoncé and Jay-Z, I knew it is what I want to do.”

The 24-year-old explains that although his parents are not thrilled that he has chosen this path, he will honour his father by releasing the album on his birthday.

“Twenty-eight November I’m dropping it, and I will have the launch on December 9.”

Mjay believes the offering will be well received since his first album, Dreams and Nightmares, sold 2 045 units.

“The highlight of my career has to be when I was one of the opening acts to Trey Songz at the Ticketpro Dome in August 2015.

“Standing in front of that crowd was the most incredible feeling I’ve ever had.”
