Robbers target another victim in KwaThema

Police are concerned about the increase of robberies at night.

A man was standing on the corner of Mabogoane and Masibeni streets in KwaThema when two unknown men robbed him on Sunday.

The 45-year-old man was approached by the duo at 5.30am, and was threatened with knives while he was searched.

“They then took his cellphone valued at R8 000 and fled the scene on foot,” says Capt Thabo Sibuyi, spokesperson for the KwaThema police.

A case of robbery with a weapon or instrument other than a firearm is being investigated.

Anyone with information should contact the police on 011 812 4600.

Sibuyi added that they are concerned because such cases are on the increase.

As a result, they are warning people who may be opening false cases, that if they are found, they will be charged with perjury.
