Tholakele Home of Hope receives much-needed groceries

Activists from Ubuntu Gender Based organization donated much needed groceries to Tholakele Home of Hope in KwaThema.

KwaThema – Activists from Ubuntu Gender Based organisation donated much-needed groceries to Tholakele Home of Hope in KwaThema.

“After careful consideration, we chose this home because of the impact it has on the children’s lives,” says Jake Matseme, chairperson of the organisation.

Tholakele home caters for about 10 orphaned children at any given time.

Buyi Nkosi, the in-house social worker at the home, says they are very grateful for the kindness that has been shown to them.

“We can never have too much of these items.

The fact that there are people who are thinking of ways to help us all the time is heartwarming.”

The children joyfully carried the groceries into the house.

Matseme adds that they hope to encourage other members of the communities to do the same.

“We can’t be satisfied with only looking after ourselves and our needs when there are so many people who are less fortunate than us.”

He believes that the relationship they have established with the home will be a long and fruitful one.

“Our aim is to assist with the care to give these children the best possible chance in life and to help them become productive members of the community some day.”
