Car stolen while parked at home

Cars disappear in KwaThema.

KwaThema – The theft of a motor vehicle is being investigated after a green Ford Laser was stolen from a yard in Kotobe Street, Phase Two on Saturday evening.

It is alleged the complainant had parked his vehicle in his yard, locked all the doors and kept the keys on him.

KwaThema police spokesman, Captain Thabo Sibuyi, says the complainant explained he went to bed at about 11pm on Saturday evening but the following morning, when he woke up at about 8.30am, he noticed the vehicle was no longer there.

“The complainant attempted to search for the vehicle but was unsuccessful.

“As the police we urge motorists to ensure they beef up on security in their homes, by putting in walls and lockable gates or parking inside locked garages.

“They should also increase security on their vehicles by adding a tracking system and alarm system, and insuring their vehicles,” encourages Sibuyi.

In addition to this vehicle, four others were also stolen in the area.

Between Friday and Saturday morning a vehicle was stolen from a yard in Majola Street, Vergenoeg.

During the late hours of Thursday or early hours of Friday morning another green Ford Laser (FT 16 YD GP) was stolen from a yard in Masuku Street.

On Saturday a GWM Florid Cross (CD24RZGP) was taken from a yard in Ramothibe Street at about 1am.

At about 1.20pm on Saturday at the corner of September and Seshemane streets, a vehicle was taken.
