Madala robbed of R8 000

A pensioner was robbed at gunpoint by three men and a woman.

KwaThema – A 64-year-old man was recently robbed at gunpoint by three unknown men and a woman.

It is alleged the group was driving a white Polo GTi number six last week Wednesday, in the morning.

KwaThema police spokesman Captain Thabo Sibuyi says it is alleged the suspects approached the old man along Phuthagae Street.

“The woman asked him for directions to Duduza and as he attempted to help her, the men in the back seat went out, pretending to urinate.

“The old man was grabbed and forced inside the car and the suspects drove off with him.

“Both men then produced firearms and forced him to lie face down,” he says.

Sibuyi says the pensioner was carrying a bag containing R8 000, and this was also snatched from him.

“The woman told the man to cooperate or else he would be killed; so – fearing for his life – the man did as he was told.

“Upon reaching an open space in Dunnottar, the senior was thrown out and the suspects fled the scene,” he says.
