Company and local church brighten the children’s day

KwaThema - The learners from Zimisele Secondary School received school shoes as a gift from local business people and Beauty of Christ in Ministry church on Thursday.

The company donated 90 pairs of shoes to learners from disadvantaged backgrounds.

School principal Demsey Noge says they appreciate the kind gesture from the sponsor and the church.

“It came at an opportune moment, especially with the cold days upon us.

“Most of our learners come from poor backgrounds and often wear torn and home shoes to school.

“We try all means to seek donations and sponsorship whenever we can,” he says.

He says the learners who benefited from the donation will be able to concentrate on their studies.

“When the learners don’t have proper school uniforms it kills their self-esteem,” he says.

Demsey says they are calling on local business people to join in the efforts to help the learners.

“By donating we will be able to give shoes to more learners who didn’t make the cut today,” he says.
