DidiM aims to empower through music

Tsakane - Musician Jane Didi ‘M’ is ready to claim her spot in the Afro-soul genre.

The new kid on the block sings in her native Xhosa language.

The songstress from Mafikeng, North West says she is aiming to write and record songs which will heal broken hearts and share love.

“I am hoping to uplift my audience’s hearts, minds and souls.

“My songs are about everyday struggles and motivate them to be patient through the hardships.

“I am aiming to empower people through my music – especially women to fight and hold on until they make it,” she says.

The songstress says she is inspired by legendary musicians like Miriam Makeba, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, and Dorothy Masuku.

“I also look up to young artists like Thandiswa Mazwai and Siphokazi, because they are flying the South African flag in music high across the globe,” she says.

She says her new singles include Globela, Uxolo and Winnie Mandela.

“Many people will relate to the songs because they are of the everyday struggles any person goes through at some point in their lives,” she says.
