Construction fence stolen and sold to community

KwaThema – Two buyers and one seller of a contractor’s stolen razor fence were arrested for possession of stolen property on Thursday.

The fence was recovered at the Ekurhuleni Squatter Camp after police were tipped off by a member of the community.

KwaThema police spokesman, Captain Thabo Sibuyi, says the property had been reported stolen earlier that morning and was later seen at the above-mentioned informal settlement.

“Police then proceeded to the address, where they found a woman (28).

“When questioned, the buyer named the suspect, aged 22, who sold her the fence.

“Another man (28) with the same fence was also approached and he confirmed that he had also bought the razor fence from the accused and his partner,” he says.
