Karate supporters donate towards gala dinner
KwaThema - The KwaThema Karate Team hosted a fund-raising raffle over the weekend.
KwaThema Karate Team PRO Justice Setenane says that the event was aimed at raising funds for an upcoming gala dinner to honour the legends in the team.
“The participants donated R50, and three lucky participants won prizes. Frank Anane won a plasma television set, Mandla Mahlangu won a microwave and Benedict Kunene won a cellphone,” he says.

Frank says that he was only participating in the draw because he wanted to help raise funds for the upcoming event. “I was very excited when my number was called out that I won,” he says.
Justice says that the gala dinner will be hosted in September and members of the community are invited to attend.
“This is an important event on our calendar because we will be honouring men who dedicated their lives to teaching the youth of this community karate.

“Karate teams from across the country will be attending the ceremony,” he says.
