400 bags of cement for KwaThema Stimulation Centre

KwaThema - A cement company has donated 400 bags of cement to the KwaThema Stimulation Centre to help them build a new classroom and new kitchen.

This is to help improve the learning and living conditions of the disabled residents.

The founder, Mirriam Ndebele shares her joy about the assistance, saying it will help them immensely.

“I started the centre in 1998 to help children living with various disabilities in Kwatsaduza and Springs.

“The centre helps 80 children with Down’s syndrome, autism, blind and deaf, so parents can go to work knowing their children are cared for.

“We also focus on early childhood development to prepare the children for primary school, which means we are able to successfully integrate them into society,” she says.

CSI manager of the cement company, Kabira Akoob, says they have assisted the centre financially for six years.

“The donation will ensure that a new kitchen and classroom are built for the centre.

“We are proud to part of this project and are inspired and humbled by what Ndebele and her team are doing for these children.

“We therefore hope the new buildings will make their work easier,” Akoob says.
