“At about 1.30am the couple heard sounds and upon investigating further, found an unknown man in their house.
“The man instructed the couple to lie down, but seeing no firearm the husband (36) tried to wrestle with the suspected robber.

“Unfortunately during the fight, the husband sustained a stab wound to his neck,” says police spokesman Capt Thabo Sibuyi.
The panicked wife of the victim, ran out and managed to scream for help.
Neighbours then came to help but allegedly attacked the suspected robber.
“The complainant was taken to the N17 Hospital for medical treatment while the suspect was taken to the Pholosong Hospital for treatment and is under police guard.

“We continue to ask for the community not to take the law into their own hands, but to rather call us in such cases,” says Sibuyi.
