One point for Springs Home Sweepers

KwaThema – Competing in one of their Sasol League matches, Springs Home Sweepers played host to Vaal University of Technology at the KwaThema Stadium on Saturday.

From the start of the match, both sides seemed eager to win as they made attempts to score.

Various shots were missed at either end of the field, which kept both sides on their toes.

The girls also kept the coaches off their seats and all they could do, was to shout out instructions while hoping for goals.

Twana Shange of Home Sweepers also missed two crucial free kicks which could have resulted in goals.

That ended the first half goalless.

Not much changed in the second half of the game, as careless mistakes coupled with missed opportunities seemed to be the order of the day.

The half ended the game as a 0-0 draw.

Home Sweepers coach Mkhonzana Mkhonza said they know where their problem lies.

“We don’t have rough players, therefore next year we are looking at promoting five girls from our Regional League to join the seniors in the Sasol League,” he said.
