Learners get career guidance

Daveyton – Global Maths, based in Daveyton, in conjunction with a local college and other stakeholders, hosted an open day for 133 Grade 12 learners.

These learners from Caiphus Nyoka Secondary School were hosted at the college’s Benoni campus with the purpose of giving them career guidance.

“We wanted to help the learners know what is available to them and, for some, they were able to receive giveaways from our partners, to help them with their educational needs.

“Learners also received information on courses available at the college.

“Our partner, a cellphone service provider, further handed out some goodies to all beneficiaries of the programme from the school to motivate the learners,” says programme director Emanwell Zwane.

He adds that the learners were encouraged to focus on their studies and to visit public or private institutions more often so they can be more familiar with their desired careers choices.
