Motaung keeps shining

Duduza – Barcelona netball player Mpho Motaung (17) has been chosen to play for the u/21 South African national squad.

Recently Motaung participated in the Champ of Champs nationals which took place in Cape Town, where she was selected amongst other girls from across the country.

Her netball skills speak for her as she has played for local, regional and provincial teams and now she will be part of the national team.

Lindi Johnson, her coach, says Motaung has earned her position in the national squad through her hard work, determination and pure passion for the sport.

“I’m more than proud of her; she is one of those special players who give it their all when they get onto the court.

“Her success is not a shock to me. Since I started coaching her nine years ago, I knew she would become a netball star,” says Johnson.

Motaung says she is thankful to her coach and her family for all their efforts and support through her journey leading to her selection.

“It wasn’t easy getting a sponsor that would secure my quest to the nationals, but by God’s grace it was done.

“I’d like to thank Bluegum View Supermarket for their support and contribution in making my dream a reality,” she adds.
