Tsakane Old Age Home elderly shown some love

Tsakane - The Tsakane Old Age Home seniors say they are thankful as they have had a month showered with blessings.

This comes after a Wadeville company gave donations to the elderly to keep them warm this winter.

This donation included the handing over of 50 blankets to the seniors and serving then with a warm meal for the day.

“As a company, we care for the welfare of our communities; therefore, in line with this philosophy, on June 15 we donated blankets to the Tsakane Old Age Home members.

“We hope that these blankets will assist the home in keeping our elderly warm through this cold winter,” said Tshepo Makgato from the company.

He added that since the day was also to commemorate World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, they provided some hot soup for the elderly to show that they care for them.

“As a company, through the Wadeville Prosper Initiative, we believe that as our communities prosper, so do we.

“Thank you to the management of the home, for opening and their doors and allowing us to come share this gift with them,” he said.

Resident at the home, Lucas Chiloane (57) thanked the team for visiting them, saying they truly appreciate it when locals come to spend some time with them.

“We are happy when people come to see us, as some members seniors have no families, so it does get lonely at times being here,” he said.
