City Royals chalk up a victory
Tsakane – Last Sunday, City Royals beat Gelukdal 1-0 in a Tsamaya Football League game played at the Malandela Grounds.
Spectators came out in their numbers to support the teams and to cheer them on.
In the first half both teams remained competitive and did not allow the opposition any opportunity to get a goal past them.
City Royals picked up their pace and made it tough for Geluksdal to get any closer to the net, leaving both teams with no goals in the first half.
The many fouls and offsides caught by the referee prove that the teams were chasing goal opportunities throughout the second half.
City Royals kept on trying to net a goal that would give them the lead and, eventually, Thabang Sehume managed to nudge the ball past Geluksdal’s goalkeeper, putting City Royals ahead.
After numerous attempts to get an equaliser, Geluksdal failed, and the match ended in a 1-0 win for City Royals.
