The 22-year-old was convicted at the Nigel Court, on June 2 following a rape incident that occurred at the Masechaba Section in Duduza on November 4, at about 00.30am.
According to police spokesman, Capt Johannes Ramphora the complainant (17) was walking with her friend in the area when they saw two young men heading in their direction.
“These two guys asked the girls where they were heading, then produced knives and robbed them of a cellphone.
“The girls were able to run off. However, the accused and his partner in crime, managed to catch the complainant, took her to some shacks and raped her behind a toilet.
“Later on the friend of the complainant was able to go back with some people and they found her,” he says.
Molo was arrested on December 11 in Masechaba while his accomplice is still on the run.
