Hijacked vehicle found unattended

Etwatwa – At around 5.30pm, on Saturday while law enforcement officers were on routine patrol along Eisellen Road in Etwatwa, they were approached by two men who pointed out a vehicle which they claimed was hijacked from them two weeks before in Rabie Ridge.

“The vehicle was found by the EMPD Brakpan Precinct officers, unattended in a parking lot of a filling station.

“Thorough checking of the white Toyota Avanza by the officers revealed that the vehicle’s chassis and engine numbers were tampered with.

“Confirmation of the vehicle having been hijacked, along with a Rabie Ridge case number was received on enquiry,” shares Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesman.

He adds that the licence disc displayed was a false one and did not correspond with the vehicle registration number displayed.
