Changes to local organisation

KwaThema – Former White City Jabavu the Re-Birth organisation would like to inform the community about some new changes to their structure over the past few months.

According to chairperson Mandla Phakathi, the organisation’s name has changed from White City Jabavu the Re-Birth to Reborn Jabavu White City NPC.

“During the process of our company registration last year, the former name was reserved by the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission and after the registration the new name was given to us,” he explains.

Phakathi adds that a lot has also happened within the internal structure of the board of directors where membership of four members was terminated.

“Last month some new faces were appointed to join the board of directors, as four of our previous board members were taken out due to poor work performance, lack of participation towards business operation of the company and absenteeism.

“As the board we had made numerous attempts to address the four members but failed, before reaching this resolution.

“Though this was an emotional decision we believe it was the right thing to do as we want to establish a huge institution and to achieve this, we need a strong and dedicated team,” he adds.

The new board of directors now comprises chairperson Mandla Phakathi, public relations director Sbongile Dhladhla, finance director John Skhosana, human resource director Wilson Magagula, health director Granny Masetle, project director Sindiswa Mkoko, marketing director Mary Stephens and information director Wondy Mkoko.

“This company dealing with drug detoxing, rehabilitation and drug research, heritage, history, archaeology and research of Greater Springs has a new approach in its existing business activities and upcoming programmes to be introduced in the community soon.

“We believe that these developments will definitely help in creating jobs for our people.

“We urge the community to accept these changes both of our new name and new board of directors as many programmes have been delayed during this process,” he adds.
