City Royals bag three points

Tsakane – Highland took on City Royal in a Tsamaya League match on Sunday afternoon in Tsakane.

The thriller started off on a good note with both sides fighting hard to put themselves in the lead position which could have propelled them to snatch the three points.

As time ticked on it was evident that the first stanza was not going to be a walk in the park as both teams were not allowing their opponents to see victory.

Various attempts at goal were taken by both sides but as the first half drew close to an end, City Royal’s right winger Zakhele Mphethi managed to sneak in a goal in the 20th minute.

The goal shook opponents who then pushed for an equaliser but failed.

This left the scoreboard at 1-0 by the end of the first half of the game.

Highland came back into the second half with more focus as they tightened their game plan of more strikes hoping to equalise, however the defence of the leading team was just not having it.

Both teams worked at creating more chances to win but the immaculate defence of both teams in this second half, ensured that there were no successful shots at goal.

This left City Royal to walk away with victory and three points in hand as the score remained unchanged at 1-0.
