Langaville loose out on three points

KwaThema - Springs Home Sweepers played against Langaville FC in a premier league match on Sunday.

The two sides battled it out at the KwaThema Sports Complex where within five minutes into the opening half Anele Maseko of Sweepers scored his first goal of the day.

No side seemed relaxed, despite the scoreboard changing, as tension just seemed to build up with both sides wanting to walk away victorious.

Langaville missed out on an opportunity to equalise a few minutes later.

However, Yanga Mdunyelwa saved the day for his team as he managed to bag an equalising goal for Langaville 30 minutes into the first half.

The first half ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the second half both sides seemed ready and eager to fight, but Langaville made more shots on target, although they missed.

But Sweepers were not having any of that as they closed off gaps, tightened their back line and showed off some defensive football.

Langaville had more ball possession in this half but failed to use their numerous corner kicks, which could have earned them their second goal and the lead they needed.

Maseko capitalised on this weakness as he managed to register his second goal for Sweepers.

This turned the tables as it was now Langaville who found themselves having to tighten defence in fear of missing out on three points.

As the whistle blew, Sweepers had managed to remain in the lead with a score of 2-1.
