Cricket player making waves

Duduza – Duduza Cricket Club (DCC) player Sizwe Zulu (21) has been invited to play in the Eastern’s senior side, in the game against Namibia, this coming weekend.

The wicket keeper/batsman will be playing in the Premier League for the first time.

He plays in the DCC first team and has also played in the Coca Cola Khaya Majola u/19 Week, in 2014.

Head coach Tshepo Mofokeng says he received a call from the Eastern senior coach, Andre Nel, requesting that Zulu should be a part of his team that will take on Namibia, in a three-day match and a one-day match at the Willowmoore Stadium.

“I was thrilled to get this call, which will expose my player to another level of cricket, as he aspires to play professionally in the near future,“ says Mofokeng.

Zulu will be playing in the one-day match on Sunday, batting number seven.

“It means a lot for me to go and play in what we call a first class game, as I also want to play for the Proteas in future,”says the cricket player.
