Tsamaya legends and RDP receive awards

Kwatsaduza – An awards ceremony was conducted at the Tlakula Grounds in KwaThema on Sunday where the Tsamaya Masters Social Football League handed out medals, trophies and certificates.

The certificate of recognition were given out to five former players who had contributed to the formation of the league, which began in 1996.

These recipients included James Moloto, George Ngoma, Phillip Khanye, Tebogo Matsose and Robert Mashigo.

The African Reporter was also presented with an award for its support of the league over the past 20 years.

Chairman of the Tsamaya, executive Joe Moletsane, says that giving out these certificates was to show appreciation to the people who have helped them be where they are today.

“We are aware that there are more than five people who have helped in the building of this league to the standard it is in currently.

“Therefore, this will not be the end of such awards.

“We also thank everyone who has worked with us over the 20 years,” he says.

Speaking on behalf of present and past players, Lifa Twala thanked the executive for all its work.

We have grown as a league and this shows that our executive is on the right track.

“We hope that they will continue with the great job and that we will get more teams to join the league,” he says.

The second part of the programme was to hand out silver medals to World 11 who participated in the final of the Tsamaya Masters Social Football League Super Eight games on Sunday.

The champs of the top eight, on the other hand, walked away with a trophy, gold medals and live sheep.
