Maskeo’s love for golf
KwaThema – Lucky Maseko (55) has turned his love of golf into something that can help him keep fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Though he claims to just play the sport for fun as he does not participate in any competitions, Lucky dedicates parts of his weekends to go out to the sports complex, where he has the freedom to hit his golf balls on the green.
“I enjoy this sport and have loved it since I was young, but due to difficult circumstances growing up in our era I could not take it up professionally.
“It is also a very expensive sport to be a part of,” he adds.
The sports lover says that although this is currently his first love in sports, in his earlier years he also used to play soccer. However, times have changed.
He adds that when he goes to the golf course to play it makes him feel happy, as it all that he focuses on at that time.
“It’s a relaxing sport. Another nice thing is that I am able to meet other local golfers who I can play with when I am out here practising on the weekends.
“It also works for me as it forms part of my weekly exercise routine,” he says.
