KwaThema CCC hosts open day

KwaThema - On Wednesday, the KwaThema Customer Care Centre hosted an open day for residents of KwaThema to become familiar with the services available within the community.

The divisional head of Customer Relations Management (CRM) Strategy, Thandi Radebe, says this is their forth open day to be held in KwaThema so residents are able to engage with the different department officials.

“This is a service delivery exhibition that aims to raise awareness to the community about what services they may get from their local CCC,” she said.

Departments such as South African Social Society Security Agency (SASSA), SAPS, EMPD, Economic Development, Environmental Resources and Human Resources, exhibited the services they offer within their departments.

She further explained that many people in townships have the wrong perceptions of the local CCC being different from ones in towns.

“You still find people who want to go to town to lodge complaints or pay their rates, just because they think it will be processed faster if its in town.

“This is the kind of mentality we want to eradicate from residents in all townships in Ekurhuleni so they know that the CCC was opened so they may access services easier,” said Radebe.

Residents were given talks on how to make use of the readily available services.

Brochures from different departments were also handed out to those present.

Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe says the city believes in the power of public participation and consultation, therefore they invited residents of KwaThema to come and engage directly with their municipality regarding all service related queries.
