Thieves target Langaville plasma TVs – police warns

Tsakane – The police are appealing to home owners to increase security in their houses, especially in the Langaville area.

This is because the area has seen a slight increase in house robberies since the beginning of the year.

Tsakane police spokesperson Capt Petros Mabuza says that, since the beginning of January, Langaville has suffered from more housebreakings than usual and that only plasma TVs are being stolen.

He adds that the house break-in cases occur during the night, while the owners are asleep.

In all the incidents recorded so far, entrance has been gained through windows, especially those with aluminium frames.

Mabuza emphasises that, for safety reasons, they advise community members to install burglar bars on their windows, as prevention is better than a cure.
