Sporo loses to Masimini
KwaThema – Masimini trounced Sporo 4-3 in the recent Tsamaya League game at the Tlakula Grounds.
Masimini were given a head start after Sporo arrived late for the match.
Moments into the first half Masimini’s Mongenzi Manana scored a goal and extended their lead.
Sporo were under pressure to catch up and equalise, but they failed to get the ball past Masimini’s goalkeeper ending the first half 2-0 down.
The second half proved to be more intense as Sporo came onto the field with a different strategy hoping to secure as many goals as possible with George Mngoma netting the first goal for Sporo.
In the midst of the battle for the ball, Masimini tackled a Sporo player, which resulted in a penalty for Sporo.
Sfiso Mkwanazi put the penalty to good use and scored Sporo’s second goal.
The victory for Sporo didn’t last long as Sporo’s Thabo Mabena scored an own goal, while defending a shot that could have been a goal for Masimini.
In attempt to draw the match Mkwanazi shot a beautiful goal 10 minutes before the end of the match. But Sporo’s defense couldn’t keep Masimini’s Lucky Moagi from notching Masimni’s winning goal.
