KwaThema women’s cricket excel
KwaThema – The KwaThema women’s cricket team registered another win, after playing against the Tembisa women’s team on Saturday at the Springs Old Boys Club in Pollack Park.
KwaThema chose to bat first and scored 117 runs in 27 overs.
Their top scoring batsmen were Carol Skosana who scored 20 runs and Bathabile Shabalala who hit 18 runs.
The Tembisa women’s team only managed 72 runs all out.
The best bowlers from KwaThema were Bontle Radorife with four wickets in three overs for seven runs and Karen Woest with two wickets in three overs for one run and boasted one maiden over.
In addition to this success, Kamogelo Nombewu u/16, Karen Woest u/19 and Bathabile Mabena u/19 from the KwaThema team have been selected for the Eastern u/16 and u/19 girls team, that will participate in tournaments in December.
