Glam Sundays aim to inspire

Duduza – The first Glam Sunday session took place last Sunday at Catch up Zone in Duduza.

The Glam Sunday dialogues are organised by the Duduza Glam Team, which consists of five young women, Mabontle Mphuthi (23), Precious Biyela (28), Khanyilsile Mdluli (25), Lebohang Mogai (29) and Mathapelo Mokoena (24).

The team aim to bring together young women from the community to share their business ideas and tips on how to be successful and respectable women.

Mphuthi says they were probed to start this movement because they saw the low self-esteem that young women have in the community due to unemployment.

“Young black women need to be empowered, especially by their peers, so we want to give them a platform where they can promote their business and empower themselves,” says Mphuthi.

The sessions are hosted every first Sunday of the month, where female entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to showcase their products and share their entrepreneurial expertise, and engage in dialogues about pressing issues facing women today.

Young women who want to be a part of the Glam Team can follow them on their Facebook Page (Glam Sundays).
