KwaThema amateur boxers train hard
KwaThema - About eight boxers from the Geo Maroon Boxing Club took part in a junior boxing tournament, on Saturday, in Boksburg.
They fought at the Tony Green Hall, in Pitchard Street.
Paul Mahlangu (19) won the fight against Thato Mavuso from the Bigger Walker Boxing Club.
He says the fight was not easy but, because he trained hard to prepare for the tournament, he performed at his best.
“Wining the fight was the start of winning more fights to come,” says Mahlangu.
Sabelo Duma (17) says even though he lost a fight by points, he is currently training hard for other fights he will take part in before the end of the year.
Coach Themba Zulu says he is proud of the way his fighters performed in the ring.
“They are still amateurs and I have no doubt that they will make excellent fighters in the future,” says Zulu.
He concluded by encouraging his fighters to continue with their hard work.
